As your 63rd President of the Queens Pediatric Society, I am really honored and humbled to lead this organization. Thank you for the trust that you put in me. I pledge to work really hard and to work closely with the executive committee and the general membership to achieve the goals we set for our Society.
One of our main goals for this year is to increase our general membership. I know that we all believe that there is strength in numbers. Our society can thrive more if we can get more members to join. I challenge each one of us to invite potential members. This year we will begin to accept other allied healthcare professionals, which will help us gain more members as well as allow us to work with other professionals in servicing our Pediatric community.
I am happy to report that our first general meeting/dinner lecture held last October 12th was very successful and well attended. This year, our traditional sets of events will continue, the general membership meeting every second Tuesday of October, December and February. I have lined up a number of very interesting and relevant lectures/topic for our future programs. April is for the much-awaited resident’s paper presentation and our final event will be culminated by our Spring Gala Dance Party in June.
Finally we will start to have larger presence on social media as this is a big form of communication in this day and age. We are excited about our newly revived website which will be updated on a regular basis. My bi-monthly presidential update will be emailed and be featured at the website as well upon its full functionality. We will also be on Facebook and Twitter very soon.
Thank you for taking the time to view the website and I look forward to seeing you all soon. Let us all work together!
Have a Pulchritudinous Day!
